First American CoreLogic Announces 2008 LoanPerformance Symposium Series

Focus on Latest Mortgage Risk Trends and Collateral Risk Analysis

SAN FRANCISCO, March 3, 2008–First American CoreLogic, a member of The First American Corporation (NYSE:FAF) family of companies and a leader in residential mortgage data and analytics for the mortgage industry and Wall Street, today announced the dates and locations for its 7th annual complimentary LoanPerformance Symposium Series on emerging mortgage loan and collateral risk issues and trends.

Topics for the 2008 LoanPerformance Symposium Series include:

The U.S. Mortgage Market: Where Do We Go From Here? Issuers, servicers and investors continue to be nervous about the risk profile of their loan portfolios. This presentation will provide insight and perspective on current trends based on the latest loan and property data and research on delinquencies, defaults and loss severities, highlighting specific areas of increased risk exposure.

Refinancing Out of Risk: The Impact on Originators, Issuers and Investors: As investors and issuers face the growing conundrum of credit risk exposure and pending legislative initiatives, what are the strategies to consider to mitigate risk? First American CoreLogic industry experts will provide perspective, recommendations and an open forum to exchange ideas.

Managing Mortgage and Real Estate Risk Through Loan and Property Analytics: The key to understanding the true underlying risk of today’s mortgage portfolios and investments is transparency at a granular level for each loan and its underlying collateral. Emerging breakthrough analytics leveraging new data sources of non-traditionally captured risk elements can create immediate, actionable arbitrage for originators, issuers and investors.

BPOs: How Accurate Are They? Broker Price Opinions (BPOs) are used extensively throughout lender organizations; however, the greatest usage is focused in loss mitigation, real estate owned (REO) management and loan acquisition due diligence. Despite their critical importance to lenders, servicers and, in the end, investors, there is little available knowledge regarding the valuation accuracy of BPOs or the degree to which one BPO provider has more accurate results than another. First American CoreLogic set out to understand how accurate BPOs are based on empirical blind testing to determine the degree to which an automated valuation process could perform relative to the “gold standard” BPO performance. For many, the results will be surprising.
